CITIES IN THEĀ WARM HEART OF AFRICA (MALAWI)
There are now four cities in Malawi: Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Blantyre and Zomba. Each city is unique in its own right, though, one also finds many common features. The most common feature across all the cities is their proximity to the heavenly beaches of the lake of stars (Malawi) owing to the fact that the lake stretches from the northern tip to the southern district of Mangochi.
MZUZU is a city developing at the speed of light inspite of a bad past when investors ignorantly sidelined her to a bigger extent. However, now everyone clearly understands the potential and significance of this city where cost of living is very affordable-a prerequisite for human happiness. Importantly, the city is strategically well located where it connects the nation to two trading partners: Tanzania and Zambia through Rumphi and Karonga districts.
Some of the social facilities available in the city include the prestigious Mzuzu University where a physics genius, lateĀ professor Landson Mhango-a native Malawian, once headed the institution in the position of Vice Chancellor. Prof Landson Mhango made serious contributions of global significance both in military and civilian applications, for example, his patented innovations are available in military and civilian aircrafts used by superpowers and other affluent nations, he resolved the Chernobyl nuclear power plant technical issues, he contributed to the UK’s nuclear power plants just to mention a few. Prof Mhango is a great testimony about the quality of human capital available in Malawi. We urge nations to join Israel in leveraging quality labor force from this nation.
LILONGWE, the capital city, remains the envy of Africa! A smart city, so spacious and tidy! This is the city where ingenuity was wholeheartedly poured on the design and construction; with thorough thought of a futuristic city taking into account critical architectural, modernity, environmental and health factors.
