Keep close to nature! And it shouldn’t always take long trips to keep close to nature. That is why the lilongwe nature sanctuary woodland lies right in the capital city for easy reach even on foot, sure lying between the city centre and the old town.

At the lilongwe nature sanctuary woodland it’s not only about selected game viewing; there are many exciting activities to turn a dull day into one special eventful day. For example, walking the jungle trucks whilst mesmerised by the songs of welcoming birds and later having a yummy meal at the jungle restaurant or a bottle at the jungle bar. Yet others come to the woodlands simply to dive into the pool by the bar side. Sure, you don’t have to get drunk and swim! On the pool sides await you beach chairs where you can also lie to bask in the beautiful morning sun shine after a swimming marathon. And that’s what defines a special day!

Another section of the woodland offers a sanctuary for a small variety of wild animals. Visitors can move around the sanctuary watching game and appreciating nature in its full an unadulterated form that is carefully preserved in the heart of the city to offer  a similar experience otherwise normally available kilometres away from the CBD  in the country side forests. Quite amazing ah! Back from strolling, the sanctuary side has a restaurant as well where you can have snacks, a meal or a drink.

One more thing: Every last saturday of the month the woodland hosts farmers market where traders of farm produce and products converge to market their businesses. It’s an exciting event where everyone longs to be from diplomats to ordinary people from the international community.

Honestly the woodland is a good place for spending precious moments with loved ones, friends or family while feeling fresh air from the evergreen city jungle. Please click sub-menu under ‘Nature’ for other exciting natural features of Malawi.
