TRADE EXPO: SPURRING ECONOMIC GROWTH THROUGH EXHIBITIONS AND SOCIAL NETWORKING
Yearly, Malawi holds a number of trade exhibition aka trade fairs where nations are invited to sample produce and products produced on the virgin soils of Malawi. The main trade fair, usually, is inaugurated by the head of state in May at the historic trade fair facility along chipembere highway, Blantyre.

Currently, some of the Malawian products on high demand on the international market include but not limited to: The unmatched aromatic Mzuzu coffee, Kwanza chocolate (produced from locally grown cocoa beans), Kilombero and Superfire rice, Marie and Nali hot chillie sauces, fish from the fresh waters of lake Malawi, flavourful pulses (legumes), a line of orange squashes popularly known as Sobo. Yet, it is not only the food items. Due to the genetic make-up of Malawi’s society, nations even compete for the services of Malawian labour force-both professional and non-professional. Some attribute the preference as due to the following perceptions: Malawians are hardworking and non-violent people, trustworthy and non-racist, tolerant and intelligent, creative and charming. These special attributes are in contrast to the behaviour portrayed by some nationals in the world.

In addition, worth of note is the fact that Malawi has never chased foreigners on racist grounds, Malawi has never confiscated International Investors’ properties on unfounded grounds, Malawi hosts refugees both from near and far countries, Malawi has never fought civil war, it is very common in Malawi to see mosques in the same neighbourhood with churches without any problem, Malawi observes public holidays in honor of both christians and muslims special anniversaries, Intermarriages in Malawi are very common between tribes, races, religions or nationalities, America’s pop star, Madonna, adopted two children from Malawi, it seems she finds Malawi her second home after the US.
